Joe Girard method: more great vendor in the world can teach you about sales and Marketing

Joe Girard is a car salesman. But it is not your average car salesman, it's the best in the world. It is not a self-professed conservative either title, he was assigned to him by the Guinness Book of Records, which have recognized Girard for his incredible record of 13,001 cars sold in just 12 years old.

Not that Girard has need of an official certificate to prove its sale. Never met anyone who can tell you that Girard a cut above the rest. For example, when he pays his Bill in a restaurant, he focuses on his business card for Bill (with a tip in good health) and tells the boy to call him when he needed a new car.

And it is Girard retain.

Often, it does not yet need to meet someone to give them his business card. As time Girard went to a football match and took with him a bunch of maps. When someone scored a touchdown, Girard surprised the crowd around him with a shower of confetti of its cards by throwing them in the air.

But you would be mistaken if you thought that the secret of his success, bizarre and socially risky marketing techniques as his machinations soccer game. They have worked wonders for Girard but it is only because that at the heart of these strange and colorful tactics is a principle that is strange and colourful. In fact it's so banal and accessed that is often overlooked and ignored, often the sellers otherwise intelligent and talented, bloggers and marketers.

Girard was 12 when he learned first the principle. He worked as a deliveryman of newspapers for a local newspaper. One day, the paper announced a competition to see who could seek the greatest number of new readers. The price was a new bicycle. For a boy of 12 years of a poor family, a new bike was the stuff of dreams.

Girard has jumped at the opportunity and began to spend all his time free typing on the keypad and prospecting leads. The competition was stiff. There are many talented newsboys in competition for the bike. Ultimately, however, Girard won.

As he stood there with the new bike looking in hand to the other newsboys, something achieved Girard who remained with him for his entire career for sale - one of the other newsboys could have matched its sale and won the competition. However, they have not done. Why? Because they didn't quite bad bike.

And it is the great secret of the greatest salesman in the world - you can take the instant your competitors benefit if you just work a little harder than everyone.

It is an important point because sellers, traders, bloggers and business people, we are fixated more intelligent work. We are constantly bombarded with advice and products by gurus who we work smarter. But what separates the winners from the losers is not always knowledge and be intelligent but the effort to put this knowledge into practice.

Therefore it is important to find ways to work smarter, it is also important to remember the importance of working more hard.

How hard?

For Girard, that meant handing out an impressive 16 000 cards per month. Compare this to your average car vendor that distributes a miserable maps 500 per year and you realize quickly that it is not strange and eccentric tactics, but his strong work ethic that is largely responsible for his stunning success.
