How to keep your Blog active while traveling

For many, keeping a blog is a commitment, especially if you want to keep your readers active and engaged with what you say.  This means often long hours every day creating content, commenting on, promotion and networking with other bloggers from spending.

Then, the time when you need a short break to take back and relax.  Holiday sounds nice, right?  But take the time off will have a negative effect on your blog?  You will lose your readers or your traffic will die during your trip?  It will establish you a few steps back on all the work that you have achieved so far?

The answer is, not necessarily; and the key is preparedness. Since you do not want to spend your entire trip follow with the blog, or because there is a chance you can travel somewhere with unreliable internet or no internet at all, you need to know how to prepare in advance to keep your blog as active as possible.

Before leaving your travel, write and plan all the posts that you would like to have published while you are away.  Also, try to write an additional post or two so that you can have a cushion after your trip, in the case where you return too tired to write a new post immediately.

If you are open to inviting positions, it is a great way to feature new content that is to raise the activity in your blog.  Ask bloggers invited to submit their content in advance, so you can plan it before leaving.  Ask each of them to respond to the comments in their position and even in Facebook (if you promote y).  Make sure that they are approved to comment, or even their comments will not be live until you moderates.

Use tools like Hootsuite or su.pr to schedule tweets and Facebook from your regular content status. Customize your tweets or Facebook post with a sentence or a question which raises the interaction beyond anything just by clicking on and reading the content promoted.  Alternatively, you can syndicate your RSS content with RSS and Hootsuite graffiti so that he was promoted immediately after publication.  The only disadvantage to this method is the lack of customization.

Your blog can be active, even if you don't produce new content.  Use tools like Hootsuite to schedule tweets and status of Facebook valuable content that you have read on other sites.  It is to keep your interactive profiles because once you go dormant people forget you easily.  In addition, it is a good idea to promote other; not only because it helps to, but it can also help you to attract new readers of your blog.

The annex to promote some of your best "old" content through Twitter and Facebook.  There is a high chance that many of your readers do not read again, especially if you have increased constantly your suite.

It helps if you are travelling with a smartphone, iPhone, iPad or computer, but almost everywhere in the world you can find an Internet Cafe where you can spend one hour every day or to moderate the comments, feedback input and schedule tweets a few or posts if necessary.

Promote your content and post your new articles during your peak hours to get the best results from your efforts.  Use in a timely manner (previously presented here on ProBlogger) to learn your best time to publish your tweets.  Similarly, use Clicky for times of traffic in edge of your blog and su.pr know your best moments to promote your content through Stumbleupon.  If you plan to spend time online while traveling, try to do so at the time where you have the maximum impact.

If you decide to blog during your trip, do so in a manner that does not take much of your vacation time.  Write your post for your time, as when you travel on a bus, plane or just sitting.  Choose all your photos, resize and write your excerpt, tags and description before the hour.  The point is to have ready to just copy and paste the planning, reducing your time online to a minimum.  This is essential if your destination has poor internet service.

Enjoy your time off the coast and relax!  This is why you are travelling, right?  It will give you new energy that will be reflected in your blog, one way or another.

As you can see, it is extremely important to keep from traffic, even when you travel, since you do not want to make it easy for your readers to lose the attention and you forget.  But keep your readers engaged and in the loop by staying active and visible through your blog and social media sites help to keep their attention and to promote interaction.

Do you have other ways to keep your blog active travel? Or ways to save time so that the blogs on the road?
