Traffic: Stop thinking in number, start thinking in terms

Recently I have been written down frequently questions from my SEO clients. Here are a few that you may recognize:

Should what traffic I make $10,000 per month of income? How to get people to click on my Facebook page? Why is no me continued on Twitter? Are the only ones online succeeded because they are famous?Links how many do I need to hit the first page on Google?

These questions are asked on almost each incoming call. Of course, the keywords and markets are different, but it's my job to manage the expectations of customers and give them the facts. Most of the appellants is just straight answers, but from time to time, one of them will be to listen and begin to understand what you really do to achieve the research rankings. I know that the ProBlogger community is full of great listeners and learners, then that's my opinion of are three years of SEO knowledge.

Okay, you can use numbers as guide, but unless you are from a magazine or advertising-based Web site, why you worried about the numbers? The difference in sales, you can generate from 5,000 visitors per month or 10 000 per month is very low. Believe me - it is!

What you need to do, is look at the graphic form for the last six months. Is it going in the right direction? If it is not the case, see where is your best source of traffic and look to add content to this source. For example, if your Facebook page brings in 500 visits per month, add a couple of photographs per week and maybe a video or both.

A fresh visitor know you, but a buyer not likely. I have read ProBlogger for two years before gave Mr Rowse any cash, but when I bought his audio book of iTunes I have recommended the product subsequently on Twitter to 5,000 people.

I think it is much more powerful, in terms of purchasing of traffic, that quickly share a story. Have a chat to your web designer on this subject. integrating a button hand after that a transaction on your blog can take five minutes of coding and be less expensive than you thought!

It is surprising to see how many and I talk to business owners are afraid of the Internet. When I suggested that they should be a photograph and a brief history about themselves on their sites, they are reluctant from the idea.

Watch every successful business there, and you'll quickly see a trend: there will be a face attached to the logo on the website of the company and other media. In most cases, a short history is included to make the most memorable owner. An example is GaryVaynerchuk - in its history, you get quickly know it is a family guy, expert wine and loves New York Jets.

I always ask my clients to start slowly and build up to that - perhaps begin by name and photo or even a picture of their faces. Over time, as soon as they are more comfortable, accumulate mentioning their hobby or the hero, for example. This is a great exercise that will improve your entire Web site. I'm working on mine now!

We have seen thousands of websites. Therefore these days when we visit a site, what is happening through our minds? "Nice logo?" Interested step. "(Well, perhaps graphic designers are). "Blog posts"? Not this large. "Most of the bloggers are not that great positions to write compelling, and good content on its own will not stop a visitor by pressing back button.

My advice is to consider this: your mission is to keep a new visitor to the Web site on your site for two minutes. I found it is a fairly good incentive for a customer to make the changes I have mentioned here. Try it for yourself and tell us how you are going in the comments.
