Have you ever tried writing an ebook to gain some traffic? I had dreams of release a masterpiece that would be so incredible, people should be rethought to download. Visions of numbers of traffic in the thousands dance in my head.
I wrote a couple of ebooks in my day, and they had not really done much for me, traffic-wise. Usually, they included a model free and pages 6 and 7 of the writing. I did not charge for them, but I had hoped that they would be an incentive for someone to subscribe to my mailing list. I was wrong dead, and they wound up being a waste.
As I refocused my efforts of blogging at the turn of the year, I began to see that traffic began to increase, simply because I was putting more effort into writing good post. The natural progression for me has been to reorganize my ebook offerings, and I have planned to write a manifest to offer my readers who might summarize my approach to set goals and changes in your life.
But I had a bad taste in my mouth from the latest ebooks that I wrote. I wanted to work on an ebook for a few weeks and it has absolutely nothing to do for me. If I set out to write something a little different. The best way I know how to do this was to set a goal of comte de word for myself - 10 000 words.
Now 10,000 words are not to be for all, alpha prolific writing, but it took a lot of work and planning, and I was very proud when it was completed. I spent time to ensure he appeared professionally - designed and that it read well. Then, it is time to launch.
I decided to send it to a handful of bloggers companions who inspired me and influenced me in my efforts focus. I their sent a link to the manifesto and has said, "thank you". What is - this.
But I have received a number of responses to them, many happy to tweet it out and share with their fans. Which has been mentioned several times throughout the response, is that they were impressed by the number of 10,000 words, and it was clear that I have taken the time to put in place something of quality. Because of this, my traffic doubled on the day of the launch, and I received a few new subscribers as well. My exposure has increased, and more importantly, I began conversations with a number of bloggers - relations which continue to this day.
It is the power to be prolific.
The Web is littered with content of our days. Fortunately for us, much of it sucks. It has contained poor everywhere wherever you look. If your goal is to make the poor things, then you will have a hard getting noticed. But if you are focused on high quality materials that could impose other persons to, then, you will have a shot much better to do it yourself on the map. Be prolific, it is in this framework.
That means be prolific? By definition, he wants to create a lot of things. But even once, it is not stop there. Being prolific is a strategy that can collect some attention, but it begins and ends with the quality.
Here are a few ways you can use more effectively the policy "be prolific".
1. Take the time to write well. If you want to release an ebook, give yourself a few months to work on it, not a few weeks. Do not plan to knock out in the afternoon. Can you write 10,000 words in an afternoon? Sure, but it does probably will be very good. We are human and we miss steam. So if you plan to write well, you have to be patient.
2 Write something useful writing. The biggest challenge in writing 10,000 words is not the number of words - it is the content. It is to write the words 10,000 law. I had to be selective about what I've included and fill out as much as possible. I have revised and reviewed constantly. If you want to be prolific, you must create good things, and that means cutting the bad or mediocre.
3 When he shared with others, a true. There is nothing that disables me more than an automatic direct message on Twitter. If I follow you, slams me in the face by sending me an impersonal plug excited for your product. If you want to share with me, fine. But to make personal and tell me why you shared with me. If the only reason for which that you is because you want to share me with my readers, then you do not have a good reason. Sharing your content with others must be done carefully and sincerely.
4 Have something to look at. In Google Analytics, a statistic I look carefully at the rate of rebound. The bounce rate, the percentage of people who have visited a page on your site and immediately after. Low bounce rate, better it will be. You want people to visit your site and everything what they see, so that they will discover more of your content. The day of the launch of my manifesto, my launch rate has fallen by an average rate of about 8%-90% to 72%. This means that a higher percentage of people liked the other content on my site. Make sure that your readers have a clear path to be followed when they read your content for the first time. Give them other great things to read, so that they will want to stay.
5 Easily to get to. If I click through three different pages to find your registration box, I do. Thus, if your large chunks of content is behind this kind of wall, make it easy for people to find it. Put this box register on your page coverage and make clear that readers will receive a special content with it. If your prolific stuff is on your blog, make it easy to navigate and find more. Show posts randomly related posts and archives. And then allow easy on the eyes. Usability is an often - overlooked aspects of the creation of good content.
As a direct result of my efforts to be prolific, I have 4 to 5 times the traffic that I had in November 2010, and that the number is climbing. Thus, your traffic starts with your content, work hard in creating great stuff and creating a lot of it.
